Emirates are no stranger to headlines.
The Dubai-based airline has just been crowned the world’s safest airline in 2017, following a study by the Jet Airliner Crash Data Evaluation Centre (JACDEC).
The study was carried out for the air industry magazine Aero International.
Everything from performance, to any incidents over the past three years as well as average fleet age were taken into account.
In second place was Norway’s Air Shuttle, followed by Britain’s Virgin Atlantic Airways.
It’s no secret that airlines recorded zero accident deaths in commercial passenger jets last year, marking 2017 as the safest year on record for commercial passenger air travel.
