The RTA announces permanent free parking in Dubai with a slight catch

We all know how much of a pain it can be to find parking in the city.

Whether you’re trying to hit up Dubai Mall on a weekend, or Dragon Mart (let’s be honest), any day of the week.

Now, if there was any reason to make the switch over to an electric car, this it it.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that 220 free parking slots for electric cars will be introduced to Dubai in 2018.

In both paid and unpaid parking zones, extra slots will be reserved for electric vehicles.

You can already find some of the slots along Sheikh Zayed Road.

Fines of Dhs1,000 will be given to non-electric cars who park in the slots.
