Shaky first dates aren’t exactly uncommon, but getting robbed by four people at knife point? That’s a little awkward.
A Dubai man has been robbed after four criminals catfished him on dating app Tinder.
The Nigerian nationals used a fake Tinder profile – using it to pose as a European woman – before luring the 42-year-old victim into an apartment, locking him in and assaulting him.
The man was then physically assaulted and made by the attackers to reveal his bank PIN.
Dhs100,000 was then stolen from his accounts.
The group have since been caught and sentenced to three years for robbery, physical assault, making criminal threats and unlawful use of bank cards.
