A large chunk of Sheikh Zayed Road has been painted red

If you’ve driven down the Marina end of Sheikh Zayed Road over the past couple of days, you’ll have noticed that a large chunk of it has been painted red.

The section near Interchange No. 5 has been recoloured as a means of notifying drivers of the recent changes in the speed limit, down from 120km per hour to 100km per hour.

The RTA carried out a similar strategy in June, when they pained Oud Metha Street near the Bu Kadrah interchange to announce the change in speed limit there.
